Basic solid modeling for CFD using Onshape and mesh generation using OpenFOAM tools

 

 

 

This course is a general introduction to solid modeling using Onshape and meshing using OpenFOAM technology, everything done using open source technology. During this training, we introduce the solid modeling application Onshape, and we show how to use this application to generate clean geometries to be used with OpenFOAM meshers (snappyHexMesh). We explore in details OpenFOAM meshing applications blockMesh and snappyHexMesh, and we show how to make effective use of these tools to create high-quality meshes for industrial purposes.

As CFD optimization highly relies on parametrization of the geometry generation and meshing stages, it is strongly recommended to take this course if you are following the advanced optimization training session.
